South Carolina Board of Environmental Certification
Continuing Education for Water, Water Distribution, Biological Wastewater and Physical/Chemical Wastewater Operators Between July 1, 2005 and June 30, 2009
Every operator must obtain a total of 12 hours (clock hours) of continuing education or pass an exam of the next highest level. Six (6) hours must be in the area of core competency dealing with support systems and unit process/process control. Continuing education can be obtained from schools, workshops, seminars, conferences and/or in-house training sessions.
Keep records of everything attended. When you receive your renewal form each year, there will be a space to record the number of hours you have received.
Continuing Education for Well Drillers between July 1, 2005 and June 30, 2007
Every well driller must obtain 12 hours (clock hours) of continuing education or pass the appropriate examination for his/her license grade.
Continuing education can be obtained from schools, workshops, seminars, conferences and technical sessions at meetings. Continuing education must be information that is relevant to well drilling or well construction.
Examples of relevant courses include: safety, operation and maintenance of equipment, geology, math, engineering, environmental subjects, first aid and water chlorination. Keep records of all relevant information.
